Needle In The Groove is a netlabel and free music recommender based in Lincoln, UK run by Gaz and Dale.

It’s an umbrella label we use to represent our more recent endeavours and those of people whom we’ve worked with in the past. Having said this, we’re always looking for artists who fit the labels identity to promote and work on the behalf, as we’re actively working to build a powerful stable of artists and affiliates over the next few years.

Needle In The Groove’s taste as a label reflects our own:

Dale likes music that twists a single element to give a new perspective, experimentation and technicality too. Good, lyrical poets fronting solid rock bands, writing about what they know and love are also a big favourite. The art must always come before the scene too.

Gaz likes hard hitting, confrontational and political lyricists or commentators, delivering in any form from singing songs through rap to reading poetry, but especially rap. It’s all about the message for him. Musicwise, slow grooves and ambient synths through to massive effect drenched guitarscapes do it. Top samples or dirty, out of place loops, with attention to each aspect of the sound. Anthems too, of all kinds. Tracks that make people move in a way they can’t control.
